Large International Bank
Volume Recruitment Solution for rapid growth operations
Business Challenge
In the last quarter of 2006 a large global bank (“the Bank”) with significant and rapidly growing operations in China faced a number of difficulties in meeting its hiring objectives including: |
Aggressive expansion plans created demand to recruit a large number of candidates within a short time period. |
Huge pressure on the HR systems, processes and manpower created the potential to jeopardise other elements of the HR practice including, legal and compliance, training, development and the business partnership with line managers. |
Lack of a talent pipeline and metrics created difficulties in benchmarking performance of the recruitment function |
Gap in knowledge as to where to source the best candidates based on location and job role |
| |
Solution
In order to streamline the resourcing functions and responsibilities and to reallocate the time consuming parts of the recruitment process, Tal-os appointed an “off-site” team to alleviate HR’s burden and ensure that all recruitment objectives were met. The team consists of an Account Manager, a Resourcing Manager and a team of dedicated researchers. To cope with the ever increasing volumes, a Resourcing Centre with a group of flexible resources was also set up to support the team.
The team works with both the hiring managers and the HR team on a daily basis on confirming vacancies, sourcing strategies, candidate management, offer management and general enquiries and provides candidates, HR and the line with a consistent and measurable experience.
Tal-os is also working with the Bank on a Talent Market Research (TMR) report. TMR is a management information tool, designed to provide first hand market intelligence which the Bank is using to support key staffing initiatives and strategic planning.
Result
Since December 2006, over 500 offers have been made to candidates. The team is now filling an average of 70 positions per month and these positions range from entry level to managers with 10 years experience.
The cost per hire is significantly lower than the market average. In addition, service levels have been improved and the team is delivering measurable added value across a range of recruitment projects.
The team has overachieved targets set and continues to offer innovative solutions to satisfy the Bank’s needs. Tal-os has its contract renewed twice with the Bank. The scope will be increased to allow Tal-os to further align the solution to meet the Bank’s recruitment objectives. |
